Cortney Martin built Tax Time & Co. in one of the toughest seasons of her life, after her family lost everything they had worked so hard for. She came to learn that the tax law is not created equal business owners and W-2 employees are both working-class citizens, yet they are taxed under two very different sets of rules.
Cortney knows firsthand that the reason most parents spend time away from their kids is to earn a living—and the very income they sacrifice for is taxed at the end of the year, often by two totally different tax laws depending on whether they are self-employed or not. This means one group of taxpayers has access to deductions and strategies that the other group never even gets to see simply because of how their employment is structured.
Cortney’s mission is to help families understand these differences, so they can be empowered to use the tax code to their benefit and put more money and more time back where it belongs: at home.

Anna Nichols serves as the newest partner at Tax Time, bringing a wealth of experience and resilience shaped by more than 14 years in the trucking industry. Having stepped into her family’s business during a critical time, she not only navigated its challenges but successfully turned it around—an experience that deepened her understanding of the weight business owners carry and the strategies required to move forward.
Her journey reflects both grit and grace. As a wife, mother, and CEO, Anna has lived the realities of balancing family, finances, and growth. That perspective allows her to connect with clients on a personal level, knowing firsthand what it takes to keep everything running while striving for better.
